I, as an individual, do not recommend it for any age group players (game format too advanced, overload in practices/games, spectators ego…) they (the players) basically follow a professional regiment without a professional coaching and have no periodization when they are still learning the game for most of them (which brings the overload)
in fact it will disrupt their club chemistry on the field
School ball does not exist in Europe, just felt like mentioning it
I will work tirelessly to give our players other way to get discovered for higher level of play.
fyi, if you want to play at a higher level, no scouts will come watch a middle school or high school game to recruit…those games are for local support, that’s it.
I hope I did not sounded too harsh but I experienced it as a coach 2 times (miami and fwb) and it will not be the way your child will get noticed (even for college)
Club is the way to go (if the school coach is not your club coach, you will just be expected to give results in a short period of time)
